In July of 2020, my son noticed a crack in our basement drywall. I subsequently called two companies, Alford and a company from out of town. Alford sent their Engineer, Dustin to make an initial assessment. He advised us that the job was bigger than Alford’s capabilities but he referred us to a company he frequently worked with and had confidence in. That company made their initial inspection and advised us that the weight of the shifting land surrounding our home had pushed the basement wall in so much that only three inches of the basement cinder block wall remained sitting on the bottom foundation stones.
Ultimately, our house was placed on jacks and a new foundation and cinder block wall was built. Since we had no experience of this sort of thing, Dustin was very conscientious to keep abreast of the work being done by the company he had recommended to us and made additional inspections of their work to reassure us that it was all being done correctly. The job was not being done by Alford and Dustin had no obligation to do that for us. He did it out of the kindness of his heart and his own integrity.
We were so pleased with Alford and Dustin that we recently contacted them again, this time to lift our concrete patio that had cracked and sank due to the shifting land around our home. This time Alford sent Doug to complete that task. He skillfully completed the difficult task in a single day and returned later when weather permitted to seal the concrete and prolong its durability.
Both Doug and Dustin were wonderful to work with. My husband and I gladly encourage anyone to use Alford Home Solutions.
